Míde Houlihan

Míde released her debut album ‘Coloured In’ in 2015, shortly after winning the IMRO Christie Hennessy Songwriting Award. The album received an extremely warm reception from radio, music media, and her then cult following. With the album circulating and generating interest, audiences got their first taste of Míde’s live show, as she opened up for the likes of FRED and Jenn Grant.

Her next release was in 2018, when she released the EP, ‘Shifting Gears’, launched in a sold out Coughlan’s of Cork City, and followed by a hugely successful launch tour, bringing Míde and band to such prestigious venues as Whelan’s/The Ruby Sessions (Dublin), DeBarra’s (Clonakilty), The White Horse Sessions (Clare), and many more. Further releases of singles like ‘Without Me’ (number 4 on RTE Airplay Chart, featured by The Last Mixed Tape, Hot Press, Indie Buddie and more), and ‘Idle Words’ (co-written with Mick Flannery, covered by Nialler9, RTE Recommends, GoldenPlec, N-Eight and more) cemented Míde’s status as a force to be reckoned with.

Míde has since been sharing the stage with such names as Mick Flannery and Susan O’Neill, John Spillane and Bill Shanley to name a few, as well as appearing at such festivals and events as Liverpool Irish Festival, The Great Beyond, The Last Broadcast, Right Here Right Now (Cork), Ireland Music Week (Dublin), Women’s Work (Belfast), with many more on the way.

Míde and band returned to the studio in 2021 to record the forthcoming EP, ‘Trampoline’, with the first single, ‘Non-Believers’ released on November 24th. The new EP showcases Míde’s versatility as a songwriter, as she evolves as an artist, without forgetting her past work.
